Human rights
The Human Rights Commission responds to urgent appeals regarding serious violations of human rights.
It also works on fundamental issues such as the abolition of the death penalty, the right to health, women’s rights where they are the most at risk, the rights of the child, the UIA activities within UN bodies and the Council of Europe.
The Commission has created a mailing list that aims to bring together all the UIA members who are interested in exchanging opinions, advice and knowledge about the European Convention on Human Rights and the case law of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) as a “supranational court”.
