Real estate law
The Real Estate Law Commission seeks to gather fellow members together to discuss the thematic issues raised in every country, responses to which may vary according to the historical, geo-political or legal context.
For example, in recent years, after the issues of liability and insurance were broached, as lawyers observed that their importance was fully justified upstream of litigation in the design, realisation and production of built-up and urban areas in dealing with environmental impacts and the impact of architecture on real estate law, lawyers then focused on businesses, based on specified cases illustrated by the rule of law in their respective countries.
For the 2009 Annual Congress in Seville, the theme of the Commission's working session is legal problems on construction sites.
Subject to the Commission's choice of themes, for the years to come, given the collapse of financial systems, a series of think tanks concerning new legal and financial set-ups for real estate operations, whether public or private, will be proposed, along with the pressing need to rethink negotiation methods and the contents of deals and contracts.
